Wrestling is Fake

So let me take you back to about 3rd or 4th grade and how the advent of Professional Wrestling derailed the next nerdy Indian Doctor and instead made him a badass then average man. Wrestling represented all that was ill with society and packaged it up into an entertaining format. Of course, the first time my parents walk into the tv room while Smackdown was on was when somebody's face was in the asscheeks of Rikishi. The second time my parents walk in on me watching wrestling was another stars aligning moment when Trish Strauss was making out with the Rock. They right away knew that I was old and lived a life autonomous enough that they could not deny me access. So they just cut right to the chase and let me know that Wrestling is entirely fake. Like it wasn't a sport and these guys were actually actors.

I was not having it, and I was furious at my parents. I believe this all predated the internet if not predated any form of internet that did not take up the home phone line. I brought up every example of people getting hit with chairs, and thrown through tables and how can you fake falls involving all that air time. I thought that shit was so real and I was convinced of the free will of these athletes like Kurt Angle as I was convinced of my own free will. My parents, however, were relentless in their arguments and would always point me towards facts. Somewhere on the graph of My parents not caring and myself getting older and slowly realizing it's fake the battle ended. I did not care about wrestling and I was convinced it was just entertainment. I mean they had to change their name to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Well I just wanted to say I say all that to say that almost 20 years after I realized wrestling is Fake I live in a country where a lot of people Think Wrestling is Real. Remember I didn't really have the internet so it was easier for me to believe it was real.

I didn't have entire afternoons dedicated to watching Youtubers convince me wrestling is fake.

The point is that people think wrestling is not fake. They pack up the stands in stadiums, putting billions into Vince McMahons pockets and considerably less in the Undertakers pocket. If we cannot share a sense of reality on the topic of wrestling there it will be hard to chat about refugee’s and Climate Change.

Science is so beautiful in how delicate and deliberate it is to deepen our understanding. To be so humble to always try to prove yourself wrong. The scientific attitude, when it was needed most was not drawn upon.

This is actual madness. I am curious and frightened to one-day switch places with somebody who smokes cigarettes and consumes only one form of media: Talk Radio. I been to those places where it is Icy Cold and Snowing and you have Vitamin D Deficiency. It is a crazy-making place. You can find me in Sunny Southern California. Gods Country whatever that means.

Wrestling is Fake, You are out of touch, and I hope you remain Safe and Happy this Holiday Season. Go America.
